Solano Community College District (SCCD) is on the record as a SMOKE-FREE college environment. Effective August 1, 2012, SCCD implemented its new smoke-free campus policy, which will allow smoking in limited areas throughout campus during the 2012-2013 academic year and will then completely transition to a NON-SMOKING campus effective July 1, 2013. The Governing Board approved the motion after campus wide surveys were conducted to demonstrate the support of becoming a smoke-free district. The proposal was supported by over half of the student body and 70 percent of the District’s employee group.
