Assistant Soccer Coach Sissi Do Amor to Assist Brazilian National Soccer Team

Solano College’s assistant soccer coach Sissi Do Amor has been called up to assist the Brazilian National Team as it takes on the World Cup Champion United States National team in Seattle, Washington on October 22, 2015 as part of the United States World Cup championship tour.

Sissi will be with the Brazilian National Team October 19-22 as part of the team’s training and preparation for the game and will serve as assistant coach for the game against the United States.

Sissi do Amor, the former Brazilian National Team Player who is currently in her second season assisting the Solano College Women’s Soccer team, is the former Golden Boot Award Winner, for scoring the most goals in the 1999 World Cup in the United States and also the Silver Ball Award Winner, the 2nd Most Valuable Player in the 1999 World Cup.

Sissi is regarded among the top 5 Women’s Soccer players of all time in the history of the world. She played in 3 World Cups and 3 Olympics for Brazil. She was recognized by FIFA in the 2015 Women’s World Cup as one of the “Icons” of the women’s game. Sissi was also recognized in the 2015 Women’s World Cup for scoring one of the best goals in World Cup history.

Sissi is also a FIFA ambassador for women’s soccer, one of the few women worldwide who have been selected for that position.
