SCC Offers More Classes in the Fall 2012 Schedule at the Centers

The cancellation of the summer session has afforded Solano Community College (SCC) an opportunity to provide a more robust Fall 2012 schedule. Fall schedule additions include classes in Anthropology, Art, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Cinematography, Counseling, English, Geology, History, Math, Political Science, Psychology, Social Sciences, Sociology, and Theatre Arts. The additional course offerings are available primarily at SCC’s Vacaville and Vallejo centers, providing students with more choice to attend College in their communities. Fall 2012 registration is now open and classes are filling quickly!

Solano Community College- Fairfield Campus is OPEN to serve students, despite Summer Semester Cancellation

FAIRFIELD, CA, JUNE 19, 2012: Solano Community College’s (SCC) Fairfield Campus, Vacaville, Vallejo and Travis Centers are open during the summer months to serve the community.  Although the summer semester is not being offered, Student Services such as: Counseling, Admission and Records, Financial Aid, Disability Services, CalWorks, EOPS, and Veterans Affairs are available.  Summer hours are Monday through Thursday for all offices; however, hours vary by department.

Fairfield Campus- Open to the public:
The varying office hours are as follows:
  • Admissions and Records 9:00am to 3:00pm; Information Booth 3:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Counseling 8:30am to 6:00pm
  • Financial Aid 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Disability Services 8:30am to 6:00pm
  • CalWorks and EOPS 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Veterans Affairs 8:00am to 4:00pm
In order to file review, process, package, and award a high volume of financial aid applications received for the 2012-2013 academic year, SCC’s Financial Aid Office (FAO) will be closed a few times this summer. The FAO closure weeks are as follows:
  • Monday, July 16, 2012 through Friday, July 20, 2012
  • Monday, July 30, 2012 through Friday, August 3, 2012
Vacaville Center- Open to the public:
Monday & Thursday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
Tuesday & Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Assessment testing
Wednesday arrive to test at 3:00pm or Thursday arrive to test at 9:00 am

July 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26

Travis Center- Open to the public:
Monday: 8:30am – 2:00pm
Tuesday: 8:30am – 6:00pm
Wednesday: 9:00am – 2:00pm

The Virtual Enterprise (VE) is a global economy created by the student, a simulation where students can develop a business using technology and learn interpersonal skills too!

SCC Suspends Nursing Program Applications for One Year

Effective September 1, 2012, Solano Community College will temporarily discontinue its acceptance of applications to our nursing program for one year. During this time, we will be revising our process. Detailed information describing the new process will be posted to our website no later than September 28, 2012. This does not pertain to students who are already on the Solano College RN Waitlist-renew your waitlist number in September as instructed.
